Beeple is coming to Solana. Stephen Hess, the CEO of Metaplex Studios, broke the news on Sunday at Solana’s Breakpoint conference in Lisbon, Portugal.
“In partnership with the Render Network, we’re excited to welcome Beeple to Metaplex and Solana,” Hess announced, adding that Beeple will be “debuting the future of streaming and immersive 3D NFTs.”
There were not many details about the collaboration, but a further announcement is expected today Monday. However, a slide that accompanied the announcement by Hess gave more clues: you will be invited to “create your unique NFT with a Beeple Everyday,” via a “randomized set of objects and time to create with.” “EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5,000 DAYS was the title of Beeple’s NFT” was the name of the Beeple
NFT sold for more than $69 million in 2021.
Beeple has closely been involved with the Render network, having been an advisor to the platform. The Render network provides developers with a peer-to-peer, decentralized network that gives users access to remote rendering power.
In December, the network managed to raise $30 million in a funding round, with some of the participants being Alameda Research and the Solana Foundation.
After dominating the headlines for selling an NFT for $69 million, Beeple has ventured into tokenized physical artwork and started a digital art studio for hosting his work as well as that of other creators.
Beeple has stated that he expects that NFTs will focus on emotional connection or utility rather than “pure rampant speculation.”
Beeple adds that in his future works, “there will be some sort of utility to having these things” and he wants to explore the possibilities of dynamic NFTs.
